Zac Langdon-Pole

YEAR OF RESIDENCY
February - May 2022

Zac Langdon-Pole is a New Zealand artist based between Berlin and Tāmaki Makaurau. After graduating from Elam Fine Arts in 2010, Langdon-Pole studied under Willem de Rooij at Frankfurt’s Städelschule in 2014. Conjuring with diverse subjects and knowledge systems – encompassing science and myth, cultural history and personal history – his poetic conundrums prompt us to appreciate the ways we apprehend the world through historically contingent interpretative frames.

His work has been shown in prominent galleries and museums (Museum für Moderne Kunst, Frankfurt; Kunsthalle Mainz; Kunsthalle Darmstadt; Kunstverein Munich; SMAK, Ghent; and Centre for Contemporary Art, Singapore) and showcased in biennales (Art Encounters Biennial, Timișoara; the Montréal Biennale; and the Triennale Kleinplastik, Fellbach), and in art fairs (including Art Basel Miami Beach, and Art Basel Hong Kong).
