PAREHUIA EDUCATION RESOURCES
DIGITAL EDUCATION RESOURCES DEVELOPED BY MCCAHON HOUSE FOR OUR TEACHERS AND ĀKONGA
ABOUT THIS RESOURCE
The vision for the Parehuia Education Resources is to connect ākonga to local artists, their work and their stories, and to grow students creative and critical thinking skills. In doing so, they will be able to see the value of art and stories made here in Aotearoa, and see themselves as makers of culture.
Our Parehuia Artists in Residence engage with our audiences in a variety of ways throughout the duration of their residency. We host talks, workshops, open studios and also produce educational resources in the form of videos on each resident artist.
The videos are produced in-house, with our Education Manager ensuring that the content is designed to be relevant to current curriculum and useful to both ākonga and teachers.
The content of these resources is aimed at varying levels of the curriculum and are often accompanied by a dedicated worksheet for classroom use.
