The seven years that Colin McCahon lived in Titirangi, from 1953 to 1960, encompassed the watershed of his career as a painter, both chronologically and in terms of his artistic evolution.

Your support will ensure that both the home and garden at 67 Otitori Bay Road receive a dedicated programme of restoration and care. The Museum is open to the public for guided tours, available for school and group visits, and is activated as a writer’s studio and space for dialogue and gatherings.

We will continue to encourage engagement with this taonga and recognise it as a place for conversation, connection and inspiration.

"The home has huge resonance as a touchstone place that helps us better understand the life and work of our greatest modern era artist. It was a studio, a family home and a place where ideas were tested."
- Graeme Burgess, heritage architect and lead for the original restoration project
