George Watson
YEAR OF RESIDENCY
September - November 2024
George Watson is an artist based in Tūranganui-a-Kiwa with Ngāti Porou and Ngāti Mutunga whakapapa and Moriori hokopapa. She graduated with a Masters in Fine Arts from Elam School of Fine Arts in 2016.
In 2019 she was awarded funding to complete the Maumaus Independent Study Programme in Lisbon, Portugal. Watson has exhibited at the Govett Brewster, Wellington City Gallery, Coastal Signs, Te Uru Waitakere Contemporary Gallery, Te Tuhi, Artspace, RM Gallery, Gus Fisher, Michael Lett and St Paul Street Gallery amoung others. She has presented work in the Te Tairawhiti Arts Festival, Gisborne, has been featured at the Aotearoa Art Fair several times and was part of Aotearoa Contemporary at the Auckland Art Gallery in 2024.
