Needlepoint workshop
Bronwyn Lloyd’s exhibition of 28 needlepoint charms in The Search Party at the McCahon House Museum provides the inspiration for this needlepoint workshop in which you will produce a power object of your own. Bronwyn will show you how to design and make a needlepoint charm using tapestry wool, canvas, and a small embroidery hoop. You will be able to select a medley of crystals suited to your needs to enclose in the back of your completed charm.
Weaving workshop
Make your own placemat, coaster, or mug rug with artist and weaver Kathryn Tsui. Learn the principles of weaving, while creating a high-impact design with contrasting coloured yarns. We will experiment with weft stripe techniques in response to Ilse von Randow and Colin McCahon's ‘Woven Kauri’ (1954).
