Emily Karaka’s practice has long been foundational to conversations around visual sovereignty, Te Tiriti justice, and the role of art as an active, living force within political and cultural life. We are proud to recognise Emily as a key McCahon House Parehuia alumni and to celebrate her ongoing contribution to contemporary art in Aotearoa and internationally.
In association with Emily’s current exhibition After the undercurrents at Artspace Aotearoa, we're pleased to invite you to join us as Emily and filmmaker Chelsea Winstanley meet for a wide-ranging conversation spanning Emily’s life and practice, visual sovereignty, Te Tiriti justice, and life as a creative wahine.
