Last week, we welcomed patrons, supporters, artists and colleagues to celebrate the culmination of Linda Va'aelua's residency as the Creative New Zealand–McCahon House Pacific Artist in Residence.

Hosted by Tautai, the evening marked the end of three months of sustained making, research and knowledge exchange. Special thanks to Tautai for generously opening your space and helping us celebrate this significant milestone.

During the eveing, Linda shared an insight into her time at Parehuia, during which she developed an expansive new body of work that connects her Samoan and Scottish gafa through a response to museum collections, colonial histories, migration and diasporic identity. Guests learnt more about the connections that Linda has made over the three months of the residency, including mentoring with Heather Galbraith and Judith Darragh.
