Saturday 6 June, 12 pm - 1:30 pm, Parehuia Studio, 69 Otitori Bay Road, Titirangi
Linda's practice explores her mixed Samoan and Scottish heritage, drawing connections between traditional wayfinding, navigation and her own evolving cultural identity. We're excited to celebrate her unique visual language during Samoan Language Week and will learn about how her work often blends traditional motifs and materials with bold, graphic imagery and vibrant colour.
Inspired by this way of working, you'll create a personalized pattern reflecting your own whakapapa, using craft materials. This hands-on workshop encourages participants to explore abstraction and storytelling.
Please note that spaces are limited and RSVP is required. To RSVP, email mccahon@mccahonhouse.org.nz
Note for participants:
All participants should be confident using scissors and craft materials, unaided. This event is not suitable for young children under 10 years old.
All confirmed participants will receive a few prompts prior to the workshop, to help them arrive having already thought about their own heritage.
